One of the things we love about Amadeus is that they have their excursions sold separately, but affordably priced. This allows them to offer us a great price for the cruise, and allows us to control our trip budget by choosing the activities that fit our budget and interests the best. You can purchase excursions separately or in the 4 available packages described below. I will also have alternative plans for many days and anyone who wants can participate with me. If I am going to do an excursion, I will let the group know and you would be on your own.

Day 7
Visit the City of Light for a panoramic tour featuring the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, the Louvre, Champs-Élysées, Invalides, and Tuileries Garden. In the afternoon, wander the vibrant Montmartre district and admire the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. Cap off the evening with a festive gala dinner on board.

Begin your day in Auvers-sur-Oise, tracing the paths of Impressionist masters like Cézanne, Pissarro, and Daubigny. Discover Van Gogh’s vibrant legacy and final resting place, and dive into history at the multimedia Château d’Auvers.

Day 3
Step into Rouen, Normandy’s historic “Ville Musée,” for a morning walking tour. Admire the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Jeanne d’Arc Church, the 14th-century Gros Horloge, and picturesque half-timbered houses. Learn the city’s rich stories, from Viking origins to the lives of Monet and Corneille. For active guests, an alternative hike up Côte Sainte Catherine offers breathtaking views of the city and the Seine. In the afternoon, visit the Le Pressoir d’Or estate for a tasting of cider and regional specialties, followed by free time to explore Lyons-la-Forêt, one of France’s most beautiful villages.

Day 4
Begin in Honfleur, the “jewel of the Normandy coast,” where winding streets, old harbor light, and artist studios exude charm. In the afternoon, walk the cliff paths of Étretat’s dramatic white chalk formations, taking in panoramic coastal views. Return to the ship for an evening of French chansons.

Day 5
Explore Normandy in all its diversity – from historic World War II sites to sunlit orchards and beaches, and taste renowned local cheese and cider. Enjoy a relaxed lunch in Bayeux, then choose between discovering the seaside resort of Fécamp or visiting the architectural gem Palais Bénédictine.

Day 6
Les Andelys exudes royal charm, dominated by the ruins of Château Gaillard, Richard the Lionheart’s medieval fortress. After a scenic photo stop, visit Claude Monet’s home in Giverny and stroll through the iconic water gardens. Lunch is served on board in Vernon. In the afternoon, choose between exploring Château de Malmaison, Joséphine de Beauharnais’ elegant estate, or the AMADEUS Culinary Experience: Ferme des Ruelles, a historic cider farm, followed by a tour and tasting at La Brasserie de l’Apocalypse brewery.
